PATENT STRATEGY

Pharmaceutica protects its proprietary developments by filing patent applications for its discoveries. The Bacterial Transforming Agent technology is protected by a worldwide filing and each discovery or molecule identified will be protected by a separate filing.

PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGIES

The Bacterial Transforming Agents are a novel antibacterial technology, they are assimilated into bacterial cell walls causing modification to key parts of cell wall structures. Therefore, bacteria, such as S. aureus, which are resistant to cell wall-active antibiotics (penicillins, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, etc.) become susceptible to such antibiotics. 75% of antibiotics in use are cell wall-active.

LICENSING

Pharmaceutica will continue to pursue collaborations in order to expand our product development capabilities. The directors believe that by entering into collaborations for selected programs, there is the potential to create opportunities for multiple sources of revenue, diversify and extend the company’s scientific expertise and knowledge base, and minimise financial risk. Partnering opportunities for our products and technology will be available at either the preclinical stage or following the demonstration of clinical proof of principle.

Pharmaceutica will provide presentations to the financial and scientific communities and will participate in appropriate national and international conferences
